The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. I immediately knew what the issue was because it had happened before and had it towed to New England Automotive again. In addition, I have a witness who is a family member who is experiencing the same problems with the same year and model car that she owns. The dash and radio stay on, but no power to engine. After doing some research on this issue, I realized that there a lot of people dealing with this same problem and others regarding the transmission. The contact had to wait a few seconds for the vehicle to stop jerking and shaking in order to engage the accelerator pedal. Got it home and let it cool down and realized the coolant reservoir was empty.
The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. After an hour, sometimes it will restart. While in a stopping position the vehicle will roughly idle and the rpm indicator will bounce up and down. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken back to cheaps Chevrolet dealer where the thermostat was replaced; however, the failure recurred. In December, I was driving on the highway and my car started to jerk as I pushed on the gas and it wouldn't accelerate. Lots of electrical messages show up, and sometimes the key cannot come out of ignition. On these dates, I took my vehicle to be serviced for experiencing hazardous issues with its electrical systems and reduced engine acceleration while I was driving between 40-55 miles per hour.
Due to the low mileage, Chevy did volunteer to tow it to a dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. It was just a mildly sharp curve. As of 2016, common problems reported by Chevrolet Cruze owners include transmissions not shifting correctly, coolant leaks and throttle lag. They said that the transmission was the issue. Oh and then shop says water pump is going out so on website it shows it has special coverage under recalls I guess but I have to pay to get it diagnosed and now I'm scared to even put more money into it as I'm not sure any of this will actually fix the car I've read horror story after horror story of stories just like my mine. Smoke coming out of the vents and under the hood. However, when driving 55 mph or more, the failure was not experienced. If I'm being told by different body shops that they continually see the same issue with Chevy Cruze's, being the loss of turbo boost. Cruze owners filed a class-action lawsuit in New York State in 2014 against General Motors alleging the automaker hid the fact from owners and the public that it had installed defective radiators that leaked antifreeze. This car is too compact to have speed issues.
And im not able to take the key out the ignition. My car constantly cuts off in in the middle of traffic and three times on the freeway at 65 miles. The vehicle was stationary parked in front of my home. After the jerking and shaking would end, the vehicle took a few minutes to reach 55 mph or more. My main concern is that my 20 year old son who drives this vehicle is going to get killed.
I refilled it and the fan went back to running as it normally would. Have had the car towed 3 times for this same problem. It's been going on weeks and I've replaced them twice now. My headlights would also flicker at the same time so I figured it had to be something electrical. The contact stated that the check engine indicator illuminated. The recall covers fewer than 400 vehicles.
I restarted the car and put it in drive, but it wouldn't go forward; however, when I put the car in reverse, it moved. Why didn't the airbag deploy? I have had knock censor replaced, value covers but nothing has worked. I was advised to get the replacement because the sensor was much more corroded than it was last year and could possibly go again soon and I had to drive 700 miles that weekend and 2,000 miles in a month or so. I've got tons of sensors going out everytime I turn around and I am a mother of a disabled son. Yesterday while turning onto a different street and today while driving straight down a street I lost power steering. Before replacing the sensor, try improving a possible poor connection by disconnecting and reconnecting the sensor a few times. Engine overheated while driving on highway.
Entire car engulfed in flames as the engine immediately started fire. I do not have pictures on my computer. In February 2014, Chevrolet issued a recall of model year 2014 Cruze vehicles for dealers to inspect and replace transmission shift cable adjusters for free. I try to start it up again and the car will start up. The dash and radio stay on, but no power to engine.
